Last week I tried workation for the first time. I spent a week in Málaga, a beautiful city on the Costa del Sol. While I worked at the Airbnb during the day, I explored the city in the afternoon and evening.
And yes, I can only recommend it! If you have the opportunity, give it a try and see whether you like it or not. It was definitely worth it for me!
I visited the Picasso Museum and the cathedral - a few cultural things to do. I often had lunch in the market hall, traditionally paella or tapas.
I enjoyed spending the late afternoon on the beach, taking a walk and watching dolphins in the sea.
I would recommend getting an apartment right in the city to make the most of your time. As you don't have as much time as on a vacation, you should make a plan of what tourist attractions you want to see. And take note of the opening times, as many attractions close at 6 pm in winter.
The 20 degrees in November were definitely worth it - my mood improves with a bit of sunshine and proximity to the beach. But allow yourself a few breaks. It can be a bit stressful when you work for 8 hours and then go straight into the city and explore. Maybe you need an evening of less stress.
Give it a try! After work in the rooftop bar, I can recommend it!
